āAnd, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch the the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.ā
Matthew 8:24ā26
These are the words of Jesus, whose words and Holy Spirit the world has not known (John Chapter 1), for had they known him they would not have continued in their unprofitable and vain ways of gain & advantage, of scarcity, of being implacable and incontenent, without respect, gainsayers, and backbiters, without āsalt;ā without love, without mercifulness, or joy in the Spirit of God; thus without graciousness. Such is the condition for all of us, if we do not have that ānew songā in our new hearts; praising the Lord for his excellent mercy and gracious favor in our life, even realizing that Jesus is now in us, the Father sanctifying us, while we were yet in sin. while we were yet in the kingdom of desolate, spiritual darkness without hope beyond this present life; sanctifying and glorifying us with Christ in us; eternal life in his presence. But, wether they be that call themselves Jews; Moses, knowing the Lord is not a respecter of a personās position in society, (for the Spirit searches the heart, knowing our thoughts); the Holy Spirit through David, forsaw the Lord would sanctify a great multitude of people who call themselves not Jews, sais in the Word, āThe Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works, (Psalm 145:17).ā
Remember Naman the leper who was not of Israel, and Ruth, the Moabitess, the great-grandmother of David; these were not Jews, yet the Lord had mercy upon them, memorializing a time in their life that we may understand that the Lord can make of any, a holy son or holy daughter; new creatures with the Holy Spirit, even the Sun of Righteousness. Of the one and a half million Hebrews who exited Egypt, only their children and Joshua and Caleb, with their families, entered the promised land. God bearing with them forty years; teaching them and working mighty marvelous works often times that they with meekness, might walk peacefully, seasoned with the graciousness of God. But they, having refused the peace of the Holy Spirit of God; having refused the quietness and confidence in the righteousness of God; their hearts and minds lacking preparation, hearkened not unto God. As the Lord sais through Moses; had they listened to him, Moses, they would have diligently prepared their hearts unto the Lord, who suddenly arrived in his temple as the Sun of Righteousness. God, who often times sent his prophets who were treated spitefully, and finally, sending his son who was crucified; not by the Jews of God, not by the Jews that listened to Moses; Joshua, Caleb, David, and the prophets, these did not persecute those of God, nor did the many Jews who believed in Jesus and became Christians. For the first Christians were Jews! These are they who had their hearts prepared, yet not they who did the work in their heart, for the work of God is of God, but these were they whom the Lord was gracious to, and the rest were blinded by the prince of this world, Satan.
Therefore, I speak not against the Jew, nor against they who know not God through his Sun, Christ Jesus, who can be read from Genesis to Revelation, (for he is the Light, and Word of God with the Holy Spirit, the brightness of the glory of God (Hebrews Chapter 1), the Almighty Father of Light; God being plenteous in mercy can easily graft in the outward Jew back unto the olive tree. But all things have happened that there be liberty, and to those who seek God with earnest hearts, they shall find his face, and they shall be known of the Lord.
Thus, though the things of this world, with all its vanity and craftiness, with all the pleasant things it has to offer do perish and go out of fashion, bringing no satiation to the soul, nor strengthening the inner life and family life of a person; and though the seas (the people of the world) be tumultuous with the constructs of unjust people who divide the land for gain, making bondsmen out of the people; and though the captains (the grasshoppers) of spiritual Egypt and of spiritual Sodom and Gomorrah bear down upon the many multitude with the yoke of costliness, whom do we have as the Bishop of our souls, and through whom do we have ānew life?ā
The vanity of this world bringing desolation of heart and narrow-mindedness, but the love of God in Christ Jesus, calming the soul and refreshing the mind with a ānew song;ā a life of thanksgiving for we have attained unto liberty, and the preparation of our heart and the introduction of soundness to our mind being beginning of Wisdom, and the diligence in the matter of the reading and doing the commandments of God, Understanding.
