“…and David danced before the Lord with all his might..” 2 Samuel 6:14a / #HonoringGod 12/24/17 #God #JesusChrist #poem #remembrance #servantleaders

He does not faint, nor does he weary. His Word does not wane, but shines brighter and brighter to his coming day. I said in retreat, “Lord, look what has become of it?!” He pointed me back to all He said. Searching Him, I found Him seeking me. I thought to myself, what is it to be a Christian? Paul said it is a profession, Lila said it was not enough to be a Christian, but to go forth and be an active Christian. Your words became as in the time of Daniel. Inside of me I have kept them. Sharing that which is sweeter than honey and the honeycomb with my children If there be any hope, please Lord, that they may love your Word; that it may guide their heart and mind. ………………………………. Before he graced us as the express image of God, the Lord Jesus Christ was the delight of His Father, and the apple of His eye. He became a little lower than the host of angels, a created host of ministering spirits sent to minister on Him and His children. Daniel ask...

Poem For The Fallen and For Those Who Serve US / #servantleaders @usarmedforces #poetry

The tombstones all look the same though they are inscribed each with a different name. There are millions of them across the land, some well-kept, some leaning, grey and forgotten. The mass of them seems to become to much to respectfully comprehend, yet each of the earthly graves holds long dead and dry bones which once walked. Each was a sacrifice, each was special.  Each had a mother each had a father a brother, perhaps a sister a grandfather, a grandmother Each had teachers, perhaps a preacher too. Some where married, some where too young to know love But they did have love Their love was the greatest love that could be given That of giving one’s life for another So says my Lord… Each held their stance Each took a stand of love Each forsook their own liberty Inscripted into an armed force They fought for ours In the rain, in the darkness in the loneliness of the watch In the pain of war In the silence of the night In the c...

Silver Screen #ServantLeaders / Ode to Charlie #thisAmericanQuilt #art #cinema

Charlie Chaplin, filming the 1925 classic, 'The Gold Rush' From the beginning, it was meant to be a form of ‘release’ for the people. Charlie Chaplin’s 1925 film, ‘The Gold Rush,’ became a timeless film etching itself into the American conscious as it weaved a well-known story of an impoverished ‘underdog’ who is without guile, yet valiant and clever. Chaplin’s Little Tramp goes out to seek gold in the time of the Alaskan gold rush and finds himself in a far-flung cabin between a gold prospector and a fugitive from the law. Throughout the story in the silent film Chaplin’s character faces starvation as he deals, evades and one-ups the prospector and fugitive with their own agendas who will stop at nothing, even if it means possibly eating Chaplin’s character. In the end, Chaplin’s Little Tramp wins through default almost without trying, and as usual, without losing his composure. The film delivers a classic storyline that puts forth the championing of the ‘un...

Servant Leader Heroes of The Heart / #thisAmericanQuilt #theSIlverScreen #TeamUSA #positivedisruption

In April I go to release the ashes of my late-father with my sisters. Dad was my hero. He passed away at the turning of midnight from 2014 into 2015. Though he was eighty two, his loss was devastating for me. I was tethered to my father. He was my prayer buddy, my counselor and an ever-present force in my life, even after I moved thousands of miles away at the onset of college in Boston. Our connection was a constant one. We thought the same and there was fluidity between us. Many a times we would remark to each other on our extra sensory perception of each other. We would call each other up with something to say and it would be the same thing and we would say to one another, “I was just about to call you to talk to you about that.” To this day I look into his eyes and can here him say, “Son, I love you and I am proud of you. Go get’em!” Dad was magnanimous in the life of his children. He would wake up every morning like a machine at 5:30 to do his exercises. The dude (and I) wo...

Action Letter for the @scalzioriginals foundation / a 501c3 entity #skateboarding #servantleadership

Action Letter for the Scalzi Originals Foundation  The creation of the foundation is purposed on the facilitation of positively disrupting educational instruction across the United States of America’s public and private systems, as much as it is an exercise in liberty fomenting  social responsibility through the generating of a culture of servant leadership. To this end, ground level operations began in the summer of 2015 in the U.S. state of Connecticut’s Fairfield County with ground zero being at the city of Stamford’s Scalzi Skate Park. A relatively quiet sport, skateboarding has the ability to sync the brain and body in a constant fluid motion making it an excellent life skills activity for typical folk, but more poignantly, for individuals with special needs. These special needs include Downs Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities and autism, but also include what is commonly known as attentional and executive function skill deficits. Primary act...

Servant Leaders are Spiritual Warriors of God #IHaveADream #RevMartinLutherKingJr #USA #positivedisruption #Harlem

Yesterday, at the New York City Surfers Healing event at Lido Beach in Long Island a volunteer staff member thanked me for helping out, to which I quickly pointed out that we are helping each other out and we are doing it together. Positive disruption use to be a market term for a product starting at the bottom of the market and moving its way up to the ‘top’ of the market using organic-grass root methods and integrating local community to spur its growth. There is no physical product with me, save what is offered. Not readily commodified, the positive disruption brought forth takes on many shapes with the aim of changing culture, how business is conducted, how special education is instructed, the way government is responsibly managed, strengthening the foundation of the family and pointing our compasses to God. It is a mission, it is an adventure, it is a logistical journey and it surges from the heart, through the mind and out into the open.  This is a labor ...

Servant Leaders Operate Night and Day / Remembering 911 / #grief #firstresponders #America #community #911

It was a 'normal' day. Like a magnet, Manhattan called its workers, its movers and its shakers to its shores for another full day of business and hustle. I was in Boston getting ready to go for a run. Still in a dream-state, Victor, one of my housemates turned on the circa 1980's television in our run-down college apartment showing that an airplane had smashed into one of the World Trade Center towers. I had been to the bar at the top many times with my college friends, Windows of the World. We liked to go there overtime we made the trip to New York from Boston. I still remember the ambiance and music. I remember my conversations with my friends. We felt we were on top of the world. It was magical. I went for my run through Boston's streets off Commonwealth Avenue. Victor and I ran 3-4 miles. Upon our return, the guys and gals who we shared the house were glued to the television. Another plane hit. This was big. Smoke was billowing out. People were jumpin...

#AmericasRevival: #ServantLeaders Understand the Game / #InsideOut #EpicCommitment #positivedisruption

Can a concerted effort will arise if we all each seek our own? Does good will sustain if we turn our hearts away after a time? Could mental illness be warded off by living a life of servant leadership?  A life of service for others harvests can foster happiness, and hearts and minds that place people before profit shore up peace from the inside out. Taken like a scientific formula, fomenting unique social enterprises which align one’s interest with the local, national and global communities needs in mind and heart becomes a win-win for the bottom line of the individual and the community-at-large. Invariably, this can employ an infinite number of business dynamics under the umbrella term social enterprise. Entry into this industry is so easy that even a child can do it by having a lemonade stand that directs a portion of the proceeds towards a social good. In effect, the lemon selling-business kid becomes a social entrepreneur. In the age o...
