The Regeneration of Women in American Society: Has It Been Co-Opted? / #criticalthinkers #humanrights

updated 4:36 pm 6/24/18 (2100 words, 6 minute read) Conviction to start new journeys is needed to motor over and beyond self-doubt and a heart brought to a lull through the travails of life; of dreams believed to be perished. Courage to fire up the heart and soul is needful to defy complacency that settles in. Courage that refuses quiet submission to time; to not rocking the boat; to not doing leaving off doing great ā€˜life work,ā€™ and courage to surrendering to a mindset that welcomes endless grey clouds and naysayers that say, ā€˜it is over.ā€™ Such an inward action requires critical, thoughtful introspection. Critical thinkers can arrive on the scene from anywhere. We are, in our best moments, the protectors and creators of freedom and liberty. An education in the academic sense is not as necessary as a willingness to grow oneā€™s critical thinking instincts, including the power of observation, reflection, and expression. To think critically then, is not a negative connotation, but ...

Crazy Little Thing Called #Liberty / #positivedisruption in the #ArabWorld

What happens when a people are brought up in repressive cultures, be it a household or an entire nation? In what state of mind and heart are they left as they reach adulthood? Do they experience greater vulnerability to be emotionally manipulated? What if the repression never ends? In a nation, what kind of political actors arise from such a petri dish of cultural repression? On the reverse, what are the traits of a people that are allowed to self-express as individuals and as a whole culture?  How does their exercise of liberty, their having access to education and the human essentials which make community life enjoyable pivot their culture to one where social, political and economic pressures are dissipated and the hallmarks that make a free society flourish? In todayā€™s essay, I focus on how individual freedom and liberty are the ticket to bring positive disruption within many of the Middle Eastern countries along the Mediterranean Sea. A special focus on the countri...

@bethanyhamilton: The Champion of Kaua'i / #Hawaii #women #empowerment #surfing #growthmindset

Bethany Hamilton When one surfs, they are no longer in the realm of normality. Their is wild life out there that will not be tamed. In the summer of 2005 I was living in the Hawaiian Island of Oā€™ahu and had visited Kauaā€™i to unwind. The island is mystifying. It appears like a giant volcano jutting out from the water. Upon airplane approach the viewer sees an island surrounded by endless blue infinite ocean. From the cliffs of Waimea Canyon one has to ask themselves if they are not in the Grand Canyon.  The breadth and scope of Waimea Canyon, a wonder of the world, is simply another cosm in this varied ecosystem island that is Kauaā€™i. Daily, the surfing community enters the water to surf and catch waves. Invariably, because we are entering into the habitat of marine life and because the Hawaiian islands are the most remote group of islands on Earth, it is a major hub for whatever sea life is in the Pacific ocean, this includesā€¦ sharks. Those infamous moving monster...

My #Interview w/ #Olympic-level, #Boxing Coach & #SocialEntrepreneur, @CaryLeeWilliams #HotterThanFireForOthers

Raising energy  requires consistency.  Maintaining momentum  requires clear working purpose.  Moving hearts to impact minds  requires talent. In the world of sports, such thoughts are always on the forefront of a coach's mindset. She understands that the inside affects the outside, and the outside affects the inside. Aware of this, a great coach is also a mentor to her players. Her attitude gives direct and indirect expectation cues to the player's, hence (SunTzu time) it is vital that the coach protect, direct and develop herself just as the players are doing so. Cary Lee Williams is one such coach.  Recently, I had the fortune to interview, Mrs. Williams. Amongst other titles and hats, she is an entrepreneur, a boxing coach, a mentor, and is the founder of a clothing line called, Never Too Pretty. She is well-known in the boxing world as industrious, a go-getter, and because of her incredible drive, she is also known ...
