The Freedom Essays: We The People must Be Critical Thinkers / #socialchange #positivedisruption #USA

Sadly, the forces of special interests have overtaken our democracy. These are pacts of corporations, organizations and individuals who have figured out that lots of money can purchase power, such as political positions in government. Our own elected leaders only are because they have been able to surf such waves of money into office. They themselves are constructs of such pacts and beholden to their benefactors, as if they themselves are political operatives doing the bidding of such entities. In such a way democracy ceases and oligarchies rule in America. These pacts permeate the Democratic and Republican parties raising and throwing down political leaders through their various purchased outlets, including the biggest construct, the special interest conquest of the media. So it is that nothing is said freely and objectively, but is tightly controlled information disbursed under the close watch of nothing less than ‘overlords’ whom ensure that the special interest pact mess...

Honoring Jack / @JackNicholsonHQ #legends #art #film #thisAmericanQuilt

“Well, I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I haven’t been a rogue most of my life.” -Jack Nicholson The professor had as view various classic films spanning the twentieth century. I was thrilled that we could watch movies in class, much more, great movies like ‘Easy Rider,’ starring Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson. Great work by the director and actors, but Nicholson took the prize. He portrayed his character as an outsider who seemed out of sorts with the time and culture he lived in, yet remarkably secure in his own skin. Such has been a part of the legacy of legendary American actor, Jack Nicholson. His work across sixty decades are a tremendous tour de force for the American culture and the world itself.  I honor Mr. Nicholson today in this essay for his contribution to our culture and collective sense of self. To those who have appreciated his work, he holds a place within us that can be easily reached. Mr. Nicholson did not go into...

Re-Threading The American Quilt / #socialgood #socent #socialresponsibility

updated 9:48 am 4/7/17 Yesterday I entered a level four maximum security jail. I had a volunteer interview with the chaplain there. I saw no inmates and only entered into the administrative section of the jail to have a conversation with the chaplain on my social enterprise proposal. We discussed the viability of a key component of my proposal, that of physically revitalizing the Bridgeport, Ct. playgrounds after a collaborative grant search and acquisition of funds to purchase new equipment, along with any possible training needed for the first round of inmates I would theoretically be working with. The idea is to have the men give back to the community and to themselves by beautifying the communal environment of the city and therein, through their work, that they do ‘soul work’ in the process of the physical exertion and mission of the endeavor. To this the chaplain let me down gently, explaining that though my proposal was a good one, given the security level of the jai...

The Importance of Reaching Out / #specialneeds #community #thisAmericanQuilt #socialdevelopment #minecraft

updated 9:00 pm 3/23/17 A great concern of parents with children who have special needs is the social integration of their children into the community. Most times, those with Downs Syndrome and on the autism spectrum experience social isolation. With autism, the more severe the condition is the greater obstacles exist for social developmental experiences to occur. Social isolationism becomes even sharper as time elapses and the children become adolescents and finally reach adulthood.  How can the community and special needs parents bridge the social divide of typical children and those with special needs? Is it needful to let things be and accept that the task is too monumental to overcome? I put forth the ‘MindCraft strategy’ as a guiding light that may get community to come together empathically for the good of all.  Send Them on Missions It does not have to be a big orchestration, rather a continuous set of experiences that teach real-world life skill...

Lt. John Corina Shot Down. Motive Unknown / The Destruction of Our Souls #USA #thisAmericanQuilt

“And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:5-6 Political forces create laws that subordinate humanity. Why should I pay into this system of garbage? The country is partly strong, partly broken. Legs of iron mixed with clay. You look the other way knowing that unsafe vaccines maim our intellectual power. A vaccine kangaroo court award hundreds of millions of apologetic dollars. Hush money. You look the other way and drive on eating lies made of ashes and mud. You stand by as human life is mercilessly killed in the womb and you play your favorite sex song on the radio that tells you everything is alright. Your music is atrocious. It is all subliminal and carries the undertone of politics. The people know not, care not. You disrega...

Everything Else Can Wait / #theRealBattle #focus #womensrights #thisAmericanQuilt

Is this a battle of ideas or a democracy without true spirited discourse and without free thought, one of control and intimidation? One man, a spokesperson who had prominence for a time, said at the end of his time that in the United States of America we had a healthy democracy that thrived due to, amongst other things, the battle of ideas. He had risen up towards the end of his reign by emulating a prince for the land who was filled with love, hope and confidence. This same man spoke eloquently before the world who feigned love for him in the end and then seemed to act as if he bowed out from the limelight altogether. His unexpected dominion was dismantled at its height and he soon fell away leaving many in utter, abject uncertainty as to what would follow. Subterfuge and turmoil spread across the coasts of the country and established, purchased voices purported to act as if he still held the seat of power, in effect, looking to establish a vision of possible supr...

We Do Not Fight Alone / #Elisha @ppact #God #WomensRights #thisAmericanQuilt

“And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:17 When God called Elijah up to heaven, Elisha, his apprentice an heir asked that if it be possible, that a double portion of Elijah’s spirit be given unto him. Elijah let him know that if the lord deemed it so that upon the Lord coming down to pick up Elijah, Elisha would be able to see the Lord’s fiery chariot descending to pick him up and take him away, death having never touched Elijah. It was so that Elisha was able to see such thing occur and this signified God granting Elisha’s wish of a double portion of spirit. Later on a certain man asked how a certain battle would play out on land seeing that the Lord’s armies were but few in the face of the enemies army. Calmly and with confidence, Elisha asked the Lord to open they ...

Welcome To Chicago, 2017 / #thisAmericanQuilt #education #empowerment #God

“How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! The stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street. The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter! Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness. The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breath it onto them. Lamentations Chapter 4:1-4 Without a vision the people of the city fail. Existence becomes a daily exercise in survival that repeats itself on itself.  Without true education, the children are left to their own devices. Violence, drugs and gang warfare ensues.  The young and old princes of the land fall short. The people’s children refuse to listen. Their hearts know that the love is no...
