Sentinels In The Midst of Politicians / #theFreedomPapers #criticalthinking #media #education #government

Serious obstacles are in the way of how Americans approach conversing on a wide range of issues, and great challenges on what kind of leadership represents America have taken a seat in the domain of our governments leadership.  It seems to be that both Republican and Democratic Party congressional leaders can find common ground in matters of care taking for the natural environment and on immigration, if calm and collected congressional leaders can choose to work together for the good of these two issues. The divisive nature of how information is curated and released for public consumption, has played a vehemently divisive role in how the American people relate to any notion that progress can be had. This complex political strategy of how, when, and what kind of news information is released plays out straight as a game of what is known as ā€˜identity politicsā€™ on multiple stages stifling the organic, natural development of progress on any issue. Chief amongst the curator...

Immigration & Sovereignty in the United States of America / #criticalthinkers #democracy #empathy #socialresponsibility #positivedisruption

In a round table discussion with American citizens from Chile, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Mexico, and me, being born in California to caucasian parents of Anglo-Saxon and Cuban descent, and a father to my children whoā€™s mother is of Guatemalan and Central American heritage, I seeked to bring the conversation towards the dire democratic need to bring greater gravity and intellectual responsibility to local and national discourse on immigration into the United States of America. Everyone brought forth their view points and we were all in accord throughout the talk. Below is a capsule of the sentiment and feeling shared by all involved in the conversation. ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.. Allowing the entrance of sixteen million Central Americans during the Obama presidency was an act of compassion, as much as it was a political move to change the demography of America. Surely, these sixteen million immigrants will find a path to citizenship, grow families, and within fifty years, triple in size, crea...

Build The Wall, End Sanctuary Cityā€™s & Be Compassionate / #DACA #politicalscience #criticalthinking #empathy #socialresponsibility #positivedisruption

Has the United States government allowed or failed to retain foreign access to its Southern border, thus allowing millions of individuals to enter the country illegally, rather than through legal processes and channels? In 2009, I visited the Central American country of Guatemala. A land steeped in culture, history and a population of citizens living in striking contrast to one another. Whereas the indigenous population of Mayan-descent Guatemalans have largely managed to retain customs and ways traditional to the indigenous ways of the mountainous and volcanic land, Guatemalan cities teem with an economic reality that exemplifies class inequality and stark social-economic class differences. On the front page of the morning newspaper I read about legislators nonchalantly telling the local media that they showed up at 11 am in the morning for work and not sooner because none of the other legislators ever showed up earlier than that time. My then-brother-in-law at the time, commen...

How We 'Effed' Up Decades Ago on Immigration and a Blueprint Forward / #brotherskeeper #servantleadership #TeamUSA #America

ā€œā€¦the destruction of the poor is their poverty.ā€ Proverbs 10:15 Two full years have past in my readings of former President Ronald Reagan. It is now the winter of 1983, and in his diary, he has just completed his state of the union speech. I afford President Reagan great allowance in his diary, given that it must not contain all that he thought, decided or acted upon, but gives a summary of his day to day happenings, including his work, his family life, and his ever-present longing for his wife, Nancy. In the limited scope of his focus on the support of Latin America, I have read of his visits with the heads of state of many of the Spanish-speaking countries, his National Security Council meetings on the surge of communist ideologies throughout Central America and his actions to help and succor these nation-states therein. After going through his first two years, questions abound in me as to the Presidents true desire and conscious wherewithal to bring concerte...

Control The Flow / #thisAmericanQuilt #immigration #USA #democracyinaction @POTUS

Let us say you have a big party with a guest list of seven hundred special invitees. You live in a big house with s sprawling property and have the means to afford such an event. For weeks you plan and prepare the music, the food, the attire and the people whom you would like to attend. On the night of the party, the three hundred guests arrive and you are at ease because you made the preparations for seven hundred. There is enough of everything to go around. Their are enough tables and silverware set out, the amount of food needed has been proportioned and there is space enough for everyone on the dance floor to get their groove on. Now let us say that you are one popular cat and many hear of your party beyond those who have been invited to invite. In fact, hundreds more covet entrance to your special party, which if given free entrance, would soon overwhelm the dance floor, the required food portions, the mount of tables and silverware needed and overall space to ...
