Better #ExecutiveFunction Skills w/ Less Fracking: This Land is Your Land, this Land is my Land

Is the current cost/ benefit ratio of fracking the earth's crust to extract energy in the form of natural gas a much greater cost than the benefits it gives? Is it a benefit or an exorbitant cost to the immediate and long-range health of communities, and lands where such a practice occurs?  Does injecting obscene amounts of chemicals, mixed with water into the earth's crust and its water tables harm the physical health of any child or adult? Can it lead to autism? Can it lead to other neurological disorders, based on exposure? Why is it legal to frack when it is such a counter-productive, and unhealthy way to extract energy, given that we can get way cleaner and cheaper energy from such sources, like waste, algae, the sun, the water, and apparently, electromagnetism?  I hear they are doing nifty energy things over in that CERN place in Europe.  With that kind of energy, why frack, why even use oil?  It just doesn't make sense that the water supply of hundreds of comm...

When you come to think about it, humans are either in a state of hormonal equilibrium, or are in pursuit/desirous of it. Caveat* Iodine has been removed from almost all US consumption... Why? Who'd want to shortchange us and our families? Apparently, taking an appropriate dosage of iodine a day raises you intelligence by 10-20%. The American Carnival: Our Profit Culture's Tax on our Health

Sadly, just as if it were straight out of a Tim Burton movie, our American profit-driven culture is myopic on the balance of money profits and the very health of its citizenry.  Their are various examples that can be easily used to illustrate this point quite clearly: 1. Big Pharma answers to Wall Street which determines each companies stock price, to a great extent. New drugs need to be constantly pumped into the market in order to not have a dead stock, or a stock that is not rising.  Thus, an american landscape chock full of people with health issues is a bonanza to Big Pharma. Creating drugs that treat the symptoms rather than the cause is a great way to keep selling the same thing..over and over again! 2. Autism: Vaccines are a money-making industry. That is a fact. Billions of dollars are raked in by big pharmaceutical companies, who are constantly creating new vaccines, or new 'metal to your brain' vehicles under the banner that they are saving the world...

Changing our Minds: Metacognition and Motivation

Do you feel unproductive in the mornings, even though you have a great deal of work to do? Is it hard to laser-focus on what is most important? How does that impact your sense of accomplishment? What about your sense of self-worth? Metacogniton, or awareness of one's on thinking, is pivotal for a person to be able to modify thinking and behavior patterns. The desire for positive change may be there, but the habituated thinking and doing patterns that pervade everyday life may be very strong, hence, the individual may feel stuck. Well, perception is stronger than reality. A problem may appear big, especially if you focus on its problematic characteristics in detail. This unproductive focus can derail motivation, desire, and leave one feeling dejected. It can actually stall forward-momentum, and 'arrest' potential talent keeping it locked up in your mind to gather mothballs.
