A Formidable Minister / #ForMyChildren #ForOurCountry #ForMyLord

Should a man humbly accept the evils of a state and act against his own conscience for the sake of being politically correct? Where should be the place that a Christian-man should stand if the laws of the country he is a part of violently murder his offspring mercilessly in the name of modernity and progression? Must his heart be subjected to the acrimony of established thought and silenced by organized entities who are self-imposed gatekeepers of truth? Is Truth not the name of one singular man? Is this not the name of He who was also murdered for speaking.. the truth?  Was not Truth, the son and image of the invisible God rejected and numbered with the transgressors in the midst of a secular state? Was not his visage marred more than that of other men?  I do apologize for my words, but my Lord paid the price for my soul and I shall not be ashamed to call him by one of his names. He alone is the Truth.  Do I upset your sensibilities by daring to speak on such ta...

#AmericasRevival: #ServantLeaders Understand the Game / #InsideOut #EpicCommitment #positivedisruption

Can a concerted effort will arise if we all each seek our own? Does good will sustain if we turn our hearts away after a time? Could mental illness be warded off by living a life of servant leadership?  A life of service for others harvests can foster happiness, and hearts and minds that place people before profit shore up peace from the inside out. Taken like a scientific formula, fomenting unique social enterprises which align one’s interest with the local, national and global communities needs in mind and heart becomes a win-win for the bottom line of the individual and the community-at-large. Invariably, this can employ an infinite number of business dynamics under the umbrella term social enterprise. Entry into this industry is so easy that even a child can do it by having a lemonade stand that directs a portion of the proceeds towards a social good. In effect, the lemon selling-business kid becomes a social entrepreneur. In the age o...

We are Born in the Womb & with Care, We Grow #InsideOut / #risetogether #EpicCommitment #America

We are born and with care, we grow.  It has been and still is a fact that some people are born without the right to live. Others can own this right over them. We live in a day and age where this still occurs in just about every major city in the United States of America. During the time of the U.S. Civil War, which ended in the beginning of the summer of 1865, human beings with dark skin pigmentation fought shoulder to shoulder with others who thought and felt that all men and women had the right to God-given rights to live at peace and be able to pursue their happiness as they see fit. No longer could someone in America ‘own’ another person. This included having a say in the life of a pregnant woman and the growing human being in her womb, the life of an elderly man, or a young child. The slave master owned that person against their will. Forty acres and a mule robbed from their families abruptly taken from their land ‘galleyed' in the lower decks of b...

Fishing Lines, Bouys and Independent Thinking / #GoForth with an #EpicHeart and #EpicCommitment

Fishing Lines, Bouys and Whales Occasionally, a large whale steams through the seas with man's entanglements upon it fishing lines and bouy's stretching long after its tail it is a sad sight to behold the power of the whale forces the bouy's down with it, every downward exertion becoming increasingly labored, the whale, stock full of energy will live this way Occasionally, whale protection authorities will spot such a whale The men and women will follow the whale at it's speed approaching it to release it from its situation. Wary, the whale may submerge and take evasive maneuvers The men and women anticipate and predict  With spears of scissors  gingerly cutting here and there Gone is the bouy Away the fishing lines go The whale increases its speed Steaming through seas majestic  #poetry by Coach Bill  Each of us has tremendous potential to be incredible forces. Yet, many a times, these forces of nature get co-opted by special intere...

Everything Matters / #RaulJulia #MariNodarse #community #risetogether #EpicCommitment #EpicHeart #PuertoRico

Life is so short. When we are young, time seems to move incredibly slow. At school, the clock hand would seem to never make it to snack time for me. Now I look back and see how fast life moves. If we don't stop and enjoy where we are with what we have we miss out on enjoying the moments and people that are in it. Life is precious then. Should we wait for our bank accounts to be just right for ourselves (or for others) before we say that 'we have arrived?' John Lennon said that life is what happens when we are making plans. Sounds easy to understand but in our individual quest to pay our bills and reach the end of the work week our lives unfold and are lived. This is a matter of great importance which I look not to take for granted. Everything matters. Every interaction is important, from the least to the greatest. Our thoughts and actions influence what is to come or not to come. Likewise, a fickle mind (ever-changing) will experience a great degree of stop ...

Can we meet negative disruption with the #skateboarding wheel of #positivedisruption?

They sprayed bullets indiscriminately. There were people in pain on the floor with blood  gushing out. There needs to be a more well-rounded approach to how we maintain the threads that keep this country together.     They left the baby with the grandma and decided to take care of business by killing people who belonged to families also.  They had a mind and heart set.  They had an infant. What will happen to that infant of theirs? If  parents were killed in the massacre, how will the surviving families deal  with  the raising of the children. How can the community help? How can community be ready to help each other when families are ripped apart? This affects everyone and apparently the attacks can happen anywhere. How do we change elements on the ground to change the landscape?  Can we meet negative disruption with the wheel of positive disruption? Social entrepreneurship can be love in action when done righ...

#Lovingkindness: @TiaTorres_ Wears her #SocialResponsibility & Creates #Awareness via #PositiveDisruption #pitbulls

My children, my personal goals, the community projects I strive to bring up to speed and the students I work with fill my mind and heart.  U nless I am writing or driving,  sitting on my derriere is something I am not a big fan of. It is hard  for me to sit still and watch meaningless 'entertainment' on television. I don’t own a TV on purpose. Yet, every once in a while there IS something good on TV. i don't know how the Lords of Television manage, but they actually got something worthwhile on the airwaves. R ecently, I managed to get the gist of what appears to be a show with a great purpose,  Pitbulls and Parolees  on Animal Planet’s network.  ‘Short story long,’ it is about a woman who has taken it upon herself to rehabilitate pit bulls with pit bulls. That is to say, actual dogs who have been maltreated, neglected or abused with ex-convicts looking for a second opportunity to empower themselves. Tia Torres leads the pack as a master dog tr...

Mommies & The Single Parent Home / #resilience #grit #family #epiccommitment

The role of the father in the life of their children cannot be underestimated. It’s absence or presence directly impacts the rise and fall of a community. That said, the role of the mother is as equally pivotal as well. Many a times, it is the mother who is the safety net and ‘fall-back’ position for children when crisis, emergencies or divorce break up the family unit. In my line of work as a Special Educator of 13 years across multiple states ranging from Massachusetts to Hawai’i, I have seen and experienced first hand the ins and outs of families that go through the gauntlet of divorce, drug use, violence…and apathy. As a male and a  father of three, I am sad to say that a lot of the times, the father is the one who is no longer in the picture. This is a hard truth, more so as we go down the socio-economic ladder. In Hawai’i for example, the prevalent use of hard drugs, such as crystal meth, has delivered a super-blow to many families. Dad’s in these situations end...
