George Washington Carver, second from right. Devoted Christian, scientist, professor, and entrepreneur, was meek unto God, of a sharp mind, a quiet heart, and a loving person whom brought hope; teaching the freed sons of slaves to be professionals, bringing also reform to improve farming practices across the United sates of America.
The burden of God is light; the yoke of God is easy. Yet, the Holy Spirit has prophesied, in 2 KINGS 6:1 and Isaiah 49:21, whereas the Lord has said it twice, making the truth immutable:
āAnd the sons of the prophets said unto Eliāsha, behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too straight for us,ā
&
āThe children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too straight for me: give place to me that I may dwell.ā
Has the Lord called us to be āold of heart,ā dry of Spirit, and strict without lightness? Has God said to withhold from rejoicing and having a quiet heart and to withhold from being loving and kind unto all? If so, what Lord is that, for in the authorized version of the King James Holy Bible, the Lord often is presented as patient, merciful, gracious, compassionate, and just (being that he is not a respecter of a personās material wealth and class position,ā but looks upon the heart and mind and soul of each? Consider Moses, whom the Lord said was the meekest man on earth; ā what thing is this that God would speak of and value āmeekness,ā and not its earthy interpretation as fearfulness, but as God sais, holy obedience?
Such traits seeming wholehearted and good, how is it that they would be hard to emulate, and what is the end result that is seen in the life of the person who reaches perfect meekness; obedience to God? Surely, righteousness was not in Adam and Eve, whom God created, and not they themselves, but righteousness if of God, whom made our hearts and minds, our souls, and has called all to be holy, after the pattern that is fulfilled in scripture in Christ Jesus.
We are then not called to live our days trivially, following always after entertainments, and living vainly unto ourselves, that we may consume our life with fancy things, which do not profit our soul, but bring about desolation of heart and mind. Wherewith, why should you make your heart and mind desolate, following ungodlinesses and all things which āpass the time,ā all he while we prepare our hearts unto imagining greater fancies, āfor then,ā we say, āthen, shall I be at peace, and then shall I rejoice and be glad.ā But on that day of rejoicing, you shall find that you disregarded the Light of God, whom we call Jesus, and therefore, the knowledge of saints is not in you, nor the good works the Lord called you to do, after the manner of work his house does, nor shall you know that you were supposed to strengthen your brothers and sisters in Christ, nor that you were to keep yourself from the value system of this world, which follows hard after the fallen angel Satan, who was the covering cherub before the throne of God, whom left his station and wanted more, not being content, and trusted in the beauty and strength and holiness God had first given unto him. Satan, who enticed Adam and Eve to not be meek unto God, who had given all things unto them, is the prince of this world and he has no glory whatsoever, and whom the Lord shall ultimately destroy; it is his dead spirit that sells indifference, calling for apathy and fearfulness in the heart of all, that they not build themselves up unto the Lord, and that they not understand what is this light and easy way of God, finding such talk and and such supplications to read the Words of God, taxing, superfluous, and annoying; yea, Satan has lied and has assuaged the ways of this world to despise truth, and to shun righteousness, and has instead offered the reverse, āfollow your heart,ā knowing that the heart is fickle, and easily led about if the mind is weak, and so, the devil has brought this world to living trivially, with indifference, and given to fancies; for he hateth the goodnesss and uprightness of God, while also seeking to be magnified in the place of God; yea, in the throne of your heart, that he may beguile your soul unto desolation and fearfulness, and idolatry, and lasciviousness, and all sorts of vanities, and of a life of gain and advantage.
Straight is the way of God, and the life of the godly is light; they, having attained unto that which the devil has not, and that is eternal life and peace with God through the gift of his mercy, for he has set the Bridegroom in our hearts; his Holy Spirit, whom is his Sun, Jesus. And who shall abide in the straight and narrow way the is light and easy, ā even they who work on the preparation of their minds and hearts unto God each day, that vanity and entertainments, and the material worries that we are asked to assume, not choke and crowd out the simplicity of the work of wisdom and understanding of God in us. Who would have us be of quiet hearts and quiet minds, winning the day unto the Lord, through the begetting and refreshing of his Word in us, that we may, each day, melt off the dross of this world upon our manner of being; God having set his Christ in you, not that you dim and put yourself away, but that you may with confidence and holy boldness, shine in the power of God without wavering. And you shall know God, and be known of him according to your intreating him through the reading and doing of his Word, which is life, for his Word speaks of his Spirit, and the Lord is loving and kind, gracious, merciful, and light, and in him there is no darkness, but the life of God in us is liberty unto the mind, and it is the healer of our soul, and the honest path which keeps us refreshed in Spirit, that we may behold the Righteousness of God on our countenance, who has called us to be holy as he is holy.
The burden of God being Light, whom if any accept, it shall be accounted unto them as the proof of Godās gift of faith in them. Of which, the knowledge of these things is the is as a light shining brightly the wisdom of God, and the understanding of his sayings; and the purpose of his law, and all his precepts, ā being now made easier to discern, through the daily tilling of heart and mind, which must be dutifully prepared daily, and that is holy work) to receive that knowledge, and to obey those commandments, which are healing to the soul, that you may be profitable unto God, even one of value, whom he may employ, according to the gifts of God in you, which shall be light through you unto others, and the proof of Godās love of you as well, and so the whole process rejoices your heart to declare love of God, for you discern glory in you which you had not known before, and that through meekness, which God has granted unto you, that you be not hard-hearted, but ready to do the will of God, if so be you walk in the power of an endless life as a son or daughter of the Lord, who has called you to a life of being light of heart, sharp of mind, and a doer of the works of God, after his Word and the Spirit of his Word, that he may rejoice in you. For now you are favored with the Lord, and so, ābe ye holy as I am holy,ā for now you are of the house of God, and a citizen of the City of God, and you have God in you, and you are in God, altogether a new creature with a family of holy people, whom must also have meekness, and their ways do show the pattern of a quiet, yet sharp mind, and a peaceful, yet quick-of understanding heart; these being the remnant who are saved.
Straight and narrow is the way unto God, and not with half-heartedness, nor with imagination, nor vain hubris, ā for whom God foreknew before the foundation of the world was established, unto these has he called and also given strength of spirit to be holy and solemn; even sober-mindedness in their understandings of faith, with all readiness and practice in hearken ing instantly day and night to the Truth and Righteousness of God. His Word is āTruth,ā and his Holy Spirit, Righteousness; together as one, the Christ of God; whom God has declared āthe way, the truth, and the life;ā has called him Jesus, the Light of God, by whom all things were created and remain, and through whom only there is hope of a better country and a continuing city for the house of God, called Zion, the eternal City of God; Holy Jerusalem that is from above.
But because of the vanity, and implacableness and covetousness of Adam and Eve, that mark of vanity and covetousness does run through all whom have not the Holy Spirit, and even they whom the Lord has called, and sanctified, can vanity affect of their hearts and minds are made weak through the trivialities of this world and the disdaining of doing the works of God. For the work of God is made great through us in our complete meekness, (and none can boast with any faith that they have delivered themselves from death and hell, have achieved eternal salvation without God).
The Lord, having spoken to us of his Light, whom is the express brightness of his glory, has propitiated his Sun of Righteousness, as the necessary payment of God unto God, who is his Truth and Righteousness in the person of Jesus, the Holy One of God; showing us the necessary pattern of of the work of meekness and of faith in God the Father, who has promised that he will not leave us, nor forsake us, and shall raise up our bodies to life in glory.
Frederick Douglass lived not unto himself, but he was a professional Christian, and he set himself forth to do good works with the gifts God gave unto him.
Therefore, today is the day of the Lord, for who knows what tomorrow will bring. Today is the day, while there is peace, to read the holy Words of God, that they may enter your heart and mind, and light enter your soul, and the healing may commence, and that you may from that start, continually prepare the heart and mind to be light and easy; and not after the manner of this world; the peace of God having nothing to do with the peace that is made and declared in spite of God, but as he sais to us, through āthe light of God,ā whom none can approach, except those whom he has made worthy, the saints of God, for the Lord is a consuming fire; and his Word is a double-edged sword that blesses those that be with it and is a curse unto those that be against it. Through faith in God, and again, that not of us, but faith is of God to grant unto us through his mercy, then we shall have strength to diligently read that we may understand the purpose of our life, yea, praise God and live in thanksgiving each day, with love and kindness that is sharpened, that what is heard of you is that pure language of God, without he dross of vanity.
The life of this world and all the things of it without God having an end, and so, we yearn to hope for something better, and we do learn of it through the reading, and find a country that has no end spoken of, a holy city which has no night, and the Lord is the light of it; we, having faith in what we read, God having strengthened us to believe, we step forward into a new life of peace, seeing behind us no continuing city, nor a better country whereupon we are at peace with the Creator and are counted as his treasures and inheritance; but looking in front of us, we see a better country, whose foundation if God, and our good works because of God do establish its walls; a promised land that is holy, and where the citizens are Light-hearted after the manner of God, whom find it easy to be godly, with all meekness of Spirit, and finding God has glorified us, ā we praise him and love him with thanksgiving, whom has set us at liberty, that we no longer serve ourselves, nor the ways of this world which has refused to know God; yea, which has refused to enter into the Light of God, by way of his Christ, Jesus our Lord, whom the Father has said is his only begotten son, and he is well-pleased in him; and therefore, God the Father, who is Jah, and Jehovah, has said, ālisten to him,ā and the blessed son, our Lord Christ Jesus has said, āfollow me.ā
